Me & Mine - September 2017

Sunday, 1 October 2017

Joining up with the Me and Mine Family Portrait Project with these photos of our family for September.

A rushed last-minute set of photos taken on the sofa. A bit different to our photos from last month but they'll have to do as we had a few good occasions when we should have taken photos but for one reason and another didn't.

September Highs:
  • - This month will be remembered as the one where Miss A started school. We're so proud of her. She's settling in well and we're all getting used to the new routine. It's nice to have some one-to-one time with Master R who doesn't seem to be missing his sister much but then he gets free reign of all the toys when she's at school!
  • - We started the month with a last-minute caravan holiday in Rhyl. It was just what we needed after the bad news of my change of treatment. We had such a great time. We were fortunate with the weather and spent a great day on the beach. The kids loved the evening entertainment at the holiday park.
  • - Mr MoaB's nephew turned 30 this month so we went up and joined the family for a nice Birthday lunch. It's always hard to know how the kids are going to be for meals out but they were so well behaved.
  • - We really enjoyed our visit to Chester Zoo last month that I decided to actually invest in an annual membership for the kids and I. So I took the kids on my own with the intention of only going for a few hours, but we ended up staying all day!
  • - When Mr MoaB's sisters' asked what I'd like for my Birthday back in July, I requested a child-free night away. We managed to organise it for this month so another weekend away. The kids stayed, one at each sister's house. Mr MoaB and I travelled to Wales and did the Zip World Caverns. It was a brilliant experience. We had booked a house to stay in through Airbnb and it was perfect for our night away - quirky but quaint. The kids had a great time with Mr MoaB's family including a visit to a farm. I think they were so busy that they didn't have time to miss us!
  • - We took advantage of the Heritage Open Days weekend and visited Norton Priory and Halton Castle. We bumped in to a friend there with her kids so spent the day with them. The kids had a great time exploring and especially watching the birds of prey display.
  • - The kids and I discovered a new park - Wepre Park. After a great walk collecting lots of Autumnal 'treasures' for Miss A's first family challenge homework, we spent ages in the playground before the rain set in.
  • - Miss A received her next badge at gym class. She's always so chuffed and does love to show off what she has learnt at home.

September Lows:
  • - I had the first dose of my new treatment this month. Had a few dodgy days and was really worried that I wouldn't be able to enjoy our weekend away but thankfully I was ok and we had a brilliant time.
  • - I'm still massively behind with blog posts. I'm so tired in the evening that I struggle to turn my computer on and write. Hopefully at some point I'll catch up on myself.
