My Sunday Photo 29-10-2017

Sunday, 29 October 2017

This is my favourite picture of this week for #MySundayPhoto.

Our Rock Chick!

Miss A took part in her first concert at school this week. It was run by Rock Kidz who, over the course of the week, taught the children songs about things like respect and self esteem. The culmination was a fab concert for the parents. It really was brilliant.

My Sunday Photo 22-10-2017

Sunday, 22 October 2017

This is my favourite picture of this week for #MySundayPhoto.

Miss A has always loved swimming ever since I started lessons with her when she was just 6 weeks old. She got her first swimming badge this week and we're really proud of her. When I watch the lessons I can really see her listening to the teacher and trying so hard. Now on to Stage 2.

Siblings - October 2017

Joining up with The Siblings Project with these photos of Miss A and Master R. Quite a mixed bag of different images this month.

This is my favourite picture of them from the last month. Morning tickles from his sister! Master R is very ticklish (they get it from me!) and I managed to capture this cute moment with Miss A making him giggle away.

This was taken on Master R's last day in the baby room at his nursery. He loves going and runs to the front door! I know he'll miss the girls in the baby room but I think he's going to really flourish being surrounded by older kids in the next room.

It's not quite Halloween yet but I found Miss A's costume from last year and she immediately wanted to try it on. Master R is modelling a 50p charity shop find!

Miss A is such a good big sister. I love that on walks she'll take Master R's hand and she looks out for him in so many ways. He absolutely dotes on her and is getting to the stage where he'll copy what she's doing. Their favourite thing to do together is dance around the room. I think they'd do it all day if they could!

I just like this picture as although you can't see their faces, it looks as though they're deep in conversation and pointing out creatures to each other! This was taken at Chester Zoo on one of our two visits there over the last month.

My Sunday Photo 15-10-2017

Sunday, 15 October 2017

This is my favourite picture of this week for #MySundayPhoto.

I love the size of Master R against these colourful windows. The picture was taken at the Ice Cream Farm near Chester. We had the whole of the Honeycomb Canyon, which is full of water and sand play, to ourselves!

Sunday, 8 October 2017

This is my favourite picture of this week for #MySundayPhoto.

It looks like Master R is poking the elephant in the bottom! We visited Chester Zoo again today, this time with one of Miss A's new school friends.

Me & Mine - September 2017

Sunday, 1 October 2017

Joining up with the Me and Mine Family Portrait Project with these photos of our family for September.

A rushed last-minute set of photos taken on the sofa. A bit different to our photos from last month but they'll have to do as we had a few good occasions when we should have taken photos but for one reason and another didn't.

September Highs:
  • - This month will be remembered as the one where Miss A started school. We're so proud of her. She's settling in well and we're all getting used to the new routine. It's nice to have some one-to-one time with Master R who doesn't seem to be missing his sister much but then he gets free reign of all the toys when she's at school!
  • - We started the month with a last-minute caravan holiday in Rhyl. It was just what we needed after the bad news of my change of treatment. We had such a great time. We were fortunate with the weather and spent a great day on the beach. The kids loved the evening entertainment at the holiday park.
  • - Mr MoaB's nephew turned 30 this month so we went up and joined the family for a nice Birthday lunch. It's always hard to know how the kids are going to be for meals out but they were so well behaved.
  • - We really enjoyed our visit to Chester Zoo last month that I decided to actually invest in an annual membership for the kids and I. So I took the kids on my own with the intention of only going for a few hours, but we ended up staying all day!
  • - When Mr MoaB's sisters' asked what I'd like for my Birthday back in July, I requested a child-free night away. We managed to organise it for this month so another weekend away. The kids stayed, one at each sister's house. Mr MoaB and I travelled to Wales and did the Zip World Caverns. It was a brilliant experience. We had booked a house to stay in through Airbnb and it was perfect for our night away - quirky but quaint. The kids had a great time with Mr MoaB's family including a visit to a farm. I think they were so busy that they didn't have time to miss us!
  • - We took advantage of the Heritage Open Days weekend and visited Norton Priory and Halton Castle. We bumped in to a friend there with her kids so spent the day with them. The kids had a great time exploring and especially watching the birds of prey display.
  • - The kids and I discovered a new park - Wepre Park. After a great walk collecting lots of Autumnal 'treasures' for Miss A's first family challenge homework, we spent ages in the playground before the rain set in.
  • - Miss A received her next badge at gym class. She's always so chuffed and does love to show off what she has learnt at home.

September Lows:
  • - I had the first dose of my new treatment this month. Had a few dodgy days and was really worried that I wouldn't be able to enjoy our weekend away but thankfully I was ok and we had a brilliant time.
  • - I'm still massively behind with blog posts. I'm so tired in the evening that I struggle to turn my computer on and write. Hopefully at some point I'll catch up on myself.
