My Sunday Photo 24-09-2017

Sunday, 24 September 2017

This is my favourite picture of this week for #MySundayPhoto.

A photo of just me for a change! Yesterday Mr MoaB and I enjoyed some child-free time thanks to his sister's and we went to do the Zip World Caverns in Wales. I was so worried that I wouldn't have the stamina to do it with my health issues but I did it and loved it. It was a brilliant experience.

My Sunday Photo 17-09-2017

Sunday, 17 September 2017

This is my favourite picture of this week for #MySundayPhoto.

This gibbon came for a closer look at us rather than the other way around! Miss A was so excited when he swung up to the window!

We're hoping for lots more close encounters like this over the next few months as we've become members of Chester Zoo.

Siblings - September 2017

Friday, 15 September 2017

Joining up with The Siblings Project with these photos of Miss A and Master R. I didn't think I'd managed to get that many pictures of the two of them together this month, but I was wrong!

The most significant event this month has been Miss A starting school! These photos were taken on her first morning. How smart does she look in her uniform!?! I love Master R's face peering at her, taking in this new grown up sister! She's settling in so well and we're so proud of her. It's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster but it's still really early days and she always comes out at the end of the day with a big smile on her face. I'm enjoying some one-on-one time with Master R. He's not really missing his sister too much now she's at school. I think because he now gets to play with all her toys when she's not around (Sshhh! Don't tell her as I try to put them back where we found them!).

The weekend before Miss A started school, we booked a very last-minute weekend away to a caravan park in Rhyl. It was just what we all needed and we had so much fun. Luckily we had one good day of weather so we spent a long time on the beach and it was such fun seeing the kids splashing about together in the sea.

It already feels like the sunny days are behind us but this picture was taken out in the garden on one of the odd hot days we had. It's safe to say that Master R is now copying his sister's antics. You can see him watching her closely and then he'll be trying to do it himself. He's always watched his sister climbing on Daddy and now as soon as Mr MoaB sits on the floor, he's there jumping on him and then he's being squashed by both of them. I love watching them and hearing their laughter together.

When they're not behaving I sometimes feel like sending these two off to the circus but unfortunately I'm just not sure they've got the skills yet!!

We're settling in to the new routine and I'm starting to get used to just having one little person to take out to (and keep an eye on) playgroups etc. So far the signs are good that Miss A being at school each day isn't affecting their relationship. They've been so used to spending most of their time together. I love that as soon as Miss A sees Master R after school the first thing she does is give him a kiss and a cuddle. I hope that affection continues for a very long time.

This is my favourite picture of this week for #MySundayPhoto.

It has to be this picture of Miss A in her school uniform all ready for her first day at big school. So very proud of her. It's such a big thing starting school but she's coped so well and we're so proud of her.

Me & Mine - August 2017

Tuesday, 5 September 2017

Joining up with the Me and Mine Family Portrait Project with these photos of our family for August.

I'm so chuffed with these photos that my Uncle took at a big family party my brother hosted earlier this month. We had such a great day and I'm so glad he was able to capture these photos for us.

Writing this post has made me realise what a fab month we have had. It didn't feel that busy but we have certainly packed a lot in and made the most of the time with Miss A before she starts school!

August Highs:
  • - On my wishlist for a long time has been to see the Antony Gormley statues at Crosby Beach and this month Mr MoaB arranged for us to meet up with some of his family and see them.
  • - We went on the hunt for Forest Fairies in Delamere Forest. It was a very soggy day but that didn't stop us from taking part in lots of fairy activities and going on our search!
  • - My brother and sister-in-law hosted a fantastic family get together with lots of family and friends. Many of the relatives I hadn't seen since I was a kid! The weather was perfect and we enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the garden.
  • - We had a go at the new Go Ape Nets Kingdom at Black Park. It was so great that all 4 of us could have a go together and bounce away! Miss A absolutely loved it.
  • - One of my cousins and her family paid us a visit and the kids enjoyed a go on the Go Ape Treetop Junior Course in Delamere Forest, courtesy of Mr MoaB! We don't see them very often but the kids got on so well together at dinner afterwards. It was so lovely.
  • - Lots of preparations for Miss A for school including buying the last bits of school unifrom, school shoes etc. We also met up with a few of the Reception parents and kids at a soft play centre.
  • - As Moana is one of Miss A's favourite films, I took her to see Moana's Jungle Adventure at Tarvin Sands. It was a great little show and the best bit was meeting all the characters afterwards.
  • - A family walk on Frodsham Hill. The views are brilliant. It reinforces that we've moved to a lovely part of the country.
  • - Another character meet for Miss A was with Chase & Marshall from Paw Patrol at a Storytime session at Anderton Boat Lift. We got to try out the new playground there too.
  • - We tackled a Maize Maze at Great Budsworth Ice Cream Farm. It was fun but quite exhausting on my own with the two kids.
  • - Through the blog, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to visit Chester Zoo. We went with some of Mr MoaB's family and had a really amazing day. Miss A and my favourites were the giraffes. There's so much more to see that we'll be back again soon I'm sure.
  • - Miss A had her last day at nursery. This could go a low as well as she will miss her keyworker. She has only been there since January but she has loved it from the first day and has developed so well. It stands her in good stead for school.
  • - Mr MoaB organised for us to visit the Ice Cream Farm. Along with the obligatory ice cream, we went to the soft play area and spent a long time panning for gemstones. Again there's lots we didn't do so we need to re-visit.
  • - I had a few days with Miss A on her own whilst Master R was at nursery and on one of these day we went trampolining at the Freebees Toddler session at Freedome. We then did a bit of shopping at Cheshire Oaks and had lunch out. A lovely Mummy Daughter Day.
  • - We visited Grosvenor Park in Chester. It's a really nice park with a great playground and a miniature railway. We also did part of the Tree Trail as we walked round.
  • - On Bank Holiday Monday we decided to head to the beach. We went to New Brighton and found the fab pirate ship. We spent ages on here until Miss A had a meltdown so we came home! But still a high up to that point.
  • - Miss A took part in the Manchester Airport Flight Academy at the Runway Visitor Park. This was a great experience for her as we got to go on part of a plane and then she tried out some of the jobs such as a pilot, air hostess, marshall and fire officer. Now of course she keeps asking when we're actually going to fly on a plane!
August Lows:
  • - I've been through another round of cancer treatment. Also had a scan and the results weren't as good as I was hoping so I'm going to have to start on a different treatment drug next month. So disappointed as I've been feeling so well recently.
  • - After a bad cough for a week, I picked up a bit of an infection so I ended up waiting in A&E for 5 hours in the early hours of a Sunday morning. It wasn't anything serious and they sent me home quite quickly after I was seen but I had to get checked out.

This is my favourite picture of this week for #MySundayPhoto.

We booked a last-minute weekend away in a caravan in Rhyl and spent a fab afternoon yesterday on the beach. I just loved watching these splashing about together.
