Mother's Day 2017

Sunday, 26 March 2017

Just a quick post to record this year's Mother's Day. The first with Baby R - he was just a bump last year.

It's been such a low-key day, but really lovely. It started with a little bit of a lie-in and then a lovely breakfast in bed. The kids brought in the things they had made at nursery this week including some fab cards.

Mr MoaB surprised me by telling me that he was working from home today which was so nice as I didn't particularly want to be on my own all day. I've shed a few tears for my Mum as I miss her deeply.

I'd already booked a 'Paint a Pot' session at a local garden centre for Little Miss A so I took the kids off to this, which gave Mr MoaB the chance to do some work in peace. We decided to make the pot for Mr MoaB's Mum who is in hospital at the moment. Little Miss A did a great job painting it. We then had a wander around the garden centre to kill time whilst the pot dried before potting it up with a plant. I hope she likes it.

We got back for lunch with Mr MoaB and then a play before Mr MoaB said that he'd done enough work so we headed out to enjoy the sunshine to a playground that has a skate park. Little Miss A had such a fun time scooting around. She's so fast now - she's definitely gained a lot of confidence since going to all the Scoot Fit Discos! We were so proud of her resilience when she managed to knock herself and bite her lip - after a very quick cuddle, she just got back on her scooter and went straight back up the ramp to try again.

When we got home Mr MoaB went off to visit his Mum in hospital and I put the kids to bed. Bedtime reading was a few 'Mummy' themed books of course!

I couldn't be prouder to be Mummy to these kids. I try my best every day to be the best Mummy I can. They are my world and never fail to make me smile, even at the lowest points and there have been many over the last year and will continue to be more I'm sure as my cancer treatment continues. I want to say a massive thankyou to them for making me a Mum.
