An Owlfully Good Time on the Halloween Hoot Trail at Waddesdon Manor

Saturday, 24 October 2015

As part of the October Half Term activities taking place at Waddesdon Manor, they have a Halloween Hoot Trail running until Saturday 31st October.

We wanted to get out of the house for a few hours this morning, despite the rain, so we took the opportunity to pop up the road to Waddesdon to do the Trail. We did one of the Trails back in February half term - the Knights and Princesses Trail - which Little Miss A enjoyed and now she's that bit older she enjoyed the trail even more this time.

We picked up the Trail sheet from the Summer House. It costs £1 per child. The Trail is laid out along Miss Alice's Drive. It's a very toddler-friendly walk. It was definitely welly weather today and I'm glad Little Miss A had on her rain suit.

As we followed the path we were on the look out for owls. Twit-twoo! Each one was different, in a different fancy dress costume. At each owl we collected a matching sticker to add to our Trail sheet.

Little Miss A got really excited spotting each owl. She ran up to most of them to take a look! There were 8 stickers to collect in total and then when we returned to the Summer House, we collected a little prize.

The Trail was great fun for Little Miss A and really kept her engaged. The owls were brilliantly decorated with eyes that lit up which made them really stand out in the gloom of the woods!

We stopped off at the Cafe for a hot drink before heading for a play in the Woodland Playground which Little Miss A always really enjoys.

This was the perfect way for us to spend a few hours outdoors. Luckily Little Miss A isn't bothered by the rain and neither are we!

We all had an 'owlfully' good time this morning on the Trail, definitely recommended for those with little ones. There are other Halloween activities going on during the week at Waddesdon so it's worth a visit this half term.
