Get Good Summer Goals - Week Five

Thursday, 31 July 2014

So I missed a week as we were on our holidays in Scotland but back now and reinvigorated to complete my #getgoodsummer goals!

1) Create a family photo book
Did manage to get a few new photos to use in the photo book. Got a really good picture of Little Miss A with her guardian (it was one of his daughter's that got married up in Scotland). I was hoping to get a good shot of the three of us together in our finery at the wedding and here it is:

2) Redesign my blog website
Still no progress on this goal. Need to get cracking on this one.

3) Read a book
Hurrah! Done it!

My goal was to "get myself a chick-lit book from the library and actually put time aside to read it!".

I finished the Lisa Jewell book yesterday. A really nice feeling to get to the final page and also to know I've actually completed on of my goals!

I think our holiday helped as I was able to find a bit more time to read. Once we'd put Little Miss A down for the night, there wasn't a whole lot for us to do in the evenings and I enjoyed being screen-free for a few days. I have also been trying to close down my computer a little bit earlier each night and going up to bed to read before I'm too tired!

I'm going to tackle the other book I got out of the library, but then my new goal is to read a book by a author I've never read before. So let me know if you have any recommendations!

4) Do a craft project
No update on this one again.

5) Try out more recipes
Unfortunately I didn't get to try out anything new whilst we were on our holidays but have been busy this week! Tonight we've enjoyed salmon fishcakes and now we've done them once, we can experiment with spices, different fish etc.

Little Miss A is finally eating well - long may it continue! So this week I've been focusing on new meals for her. She's enjoyed red lentils with vegetables and kedgeree. Simple but tasty dishes and it's really satisfying to see her lapping up everything I put in-front of her.

So I'm glad to report some progress this week! Now to tackle the biggies on the list!

  1. Well done on ticking something off, feels good doesn't it! Took me almost a whole year to read a book after having my eldest #getgoodsummer
